Serving Union and Mecklenburg Counties including Weddington and Matthews
Custody battles are the most difficult area of family law. It is hard on the parents to share access to their children but even harder on the children themselves. I work hard to handle these emotionally charged cases quickly and effectively, providing my clients with the benefit of approximately 20 years of experience.

Lawyer Experienced in the Best Interests of the Child
Custody is based on the best interests of the child. The court considers many different factors but ultimately has to decide which parent will provide an environment which will best encourage the child's physical, emotional, moral and mental development. In order to share custody, it is necessary that both parents are actively involved in the child's life — both parents are knowledgeable and involved in the child's education, extracurricular activities and health. Courts are hesitant to disrupt the status quo if one parent has been the child's primary caretaker.
I have handled numerous custody disputes. I am actively involved in the counties that I practice in and keep up to date with judge's proclivities regarding 50/50 custody and joint timesharing. I also take an honest approach to these excruciatingly difficult cases. If we can settle the case for something similar to what you get at trial, I will advise you accordingly and draft a child visitation agreement. I have approximately 20 years of experience working with these difficult cases and can advise you on your options.
Can I Modify My Child Custody Arrangement?
Modifications of child custody, like child support, are never final until the child turns 18 and graduates from high school. You can always ask the court to modify the child custody or visitation schedule if there has been a substantial change in circumstances that affect the children.
