Lamar Sally wants prenup with Sherry Shepherd thrown out

In the past, it used to be that prenuptial agreements were considered to be a sign of a person’s lack of commitment or doubt about a marriage standing the test of time. Now days in Ballantyne, North Carolina, people are more likely to look at them like a sort of insurance for their marriage, especially those who have been married before and are concerned about protecting their assets.

Lamar Sally is questioning the validity of the prenuptial agreement he signed with his wife, Sherry Shepherd when they married nearly three years ago. Shelly has filed for legal separation from Shepherd, but would like to see their prenuptial agreement thrown out because he claims it is fraudulent. His request for legal separation will be turned into a divorce petition after he has met the requirement of being a resident of California for at least three months.

In response, Shepherd filed her own divorce papers in which she asked for the prenup to stand. She did not say anything about a baby due in July that she and Sally are having with a surrogate. However, in his documents, Sally requested full legal and physical custody of the baby.

If you are facing a divorce and have a prenuptial agreement in place, you may wish to consult with an attorney experienced in family law. An attorney may be able to help you navigate the entire divorce process and may be able to find ways to work around a prenuptial agreement, if necessary and prudent to do so.
