Mandy Moore caught up in pet support battle

Many people don't believe it to be true, but owning a pet is very expensive. This is particularly true if you have more than one and don't have much time in your schedule.

Mandy Moore, the 31-year-old actress and singer, is asking her ex-husband, Ryan Adams, to help foot the bill for eight pets.

According to recent court documents, the couple who split after six years cannot agree on a settlement due to Adams' refusal to pay alimony.

Moore was quoted as saying the following in the documents:

"Although I love our pets, it is overwhelming for me to take care of all eight of them all of the timeā€¦I was even forced to cancel a prior work engagement because my housekeeper was ill and unable to stay with our pets"

Moore also noted that Adams earns $151,000 per month, while her salary comes into at less than 25 percent of that.

Furthermore, Moore is not happy that she is left to care for their two dogs and six cats, despite the fact that Adams allegedly promised to take in at least two of the cats.

Moore is requesting that Adams takes responsibility for half the pets, while also paying $37,000 per month in spousal support.

Divorce is never easy, and pets can make the entire situation more complicated. This story shows what divorce can do to a couple's finances and personal situation. If the two could agree to a resolution, none of this would have to happen. However, due to their failure to come to terms, the court battle continues.
