Rapper Ludacris requests full custody of 2-month-old daughter

When going through a divorce or separation, one of the biggest fears facing parents is that they will not be able to see their child or children as much as they would like. Many worry about completely losing custody of their children. When determining child custody in North Carolina, the court takes into consideration a variety of factors to pinpoint what is in the best interest of the child.

Rapper Ludacris is asking for full custody of his 2-month-old daughter. The 36-year-old recently filed legal documents in which he stated that he was a fit and active father capable of raising his daughter. He also indicated he wanted the child's mother, Tamika Fuller, to pay him child support.

Although Ludacris' net worth was valued by Forbes to be at least $12 million, the rapper claims he earned just $55,000 last year. Consequently he says he is unable to afford to make the $15,000 a month child support payments that Fuller requested.

Ludacris told the judge that because his latest movie, "Fast and Furious 7," has been put on hold since the death of Paul Walker, he cannot afford to pay that much child support. He says he was planning on using his earnings from the movie to pay the child support.

If you have children and are facing divorce or separation, you may wish to consult with an attorney experienced in family law. A lawyer may be able to advise you on the best way to proceed with your case and fight for your parenting rights and interests.
