Adam Hartmann

Attorney

Adam is a native of the West, having earned his bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature at the University of Arizona in Tucson. After moving to California, he earned a master’s degree in English Composition from California State University, San Bernardino, and spent six years teaching college-level English courses in composition and literature. After teaching, Adam spent four years as a reporter at the (Riverside, California) Press-Enterprise covering city politics, schools, and breaking news.

Adam earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude in 2011 from Chapman University Fowler School of Law in Orange, California, where he was Notes Editor of the Chapman Law Review and a teaching assistant in Contracts. He also participated in the Elder Law and Appellate Law Clinics, co-authored a certiorari petition to the Supreme Court, and did internships at both the Orange County and San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.

After graduation, Adam passed the California bar exam on his first (and, thankfully, only) try, and worked as a family law attorney at two California firms. He moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 2016 and completed his coursework for a PhD in American Literature before being admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2020. Before coming to Epperson Law Group, Adam worked in Social Security Disability and general civil litigation.

A wine enthusiast, Adam enjoys visiting North Carolina wineries, and spending time with his wife, four children, and seven cats. He is an avid collector of Blue Ridge parkway memorabilia and has been known to get back onto the drums that he first learned to play in college. He lives in Mint Hill.
