Lisa Marie is a mid-west native of Cleveland, Ohio. She studied at Cleveland State University and received her BA and a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, Lisa became actively involved in her community. She tutored at-risk inner-city students of all ages, she was a volunteer mentor with various community mentor programs, and she volunteered, and continues to volunteer, for many national and state political campaigns.

Lisa Marie extended her studies overseas and attended the University of Savoie in Chambery, France where she studied international law, European trade and business, translation and European history and culture.

She went even further in her cross-country experience by participating in the International Conference on Public Management and Development Administration hosted in Ghana, Africa. Lisa facilitated a workshop in Ghana and the Ivory Coast that addressed urban infrastructure, intergovernmental issues, and the need to promote economic growth and stability in urban communities.

Lisa Marie attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. As a law student, she was an honors scholarship recipient, was on the Dean’s List and awarded the blue book award in Law Office Management. While in Lansing, Lisa worked for Legal Services of South Central Michigan as the Clinic Coordinator and managed family law self-help clinics for six major counties in Michigan. She expanded her work with Legal Services by volunteering with community youth centers teaching young parents about child custody, child support and parenting rights.

When Lisa moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, she carried her love of community service to her new home. She was a volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club Center of Hope as an after-school tutor for elementary school children. She also volunteers with the Room In The Inn homeless shelter program.

Lisa Marie is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. She is also a certified mediator in Superior Court.

For ten years Lisa Marie was an adjunct professor at The University of Phoenix where she taught philosophy, business ethics, communications, constitutional history, and political science.

Lisa Marie remains politically and socially active. She currently serves as the chairman for the Board of Zoning Appeals in her community where she presides over zoning appeal petitions.

Lisa played forward position with the Charlotte Women’s Soccer League. She now spends her free time with her young son and two fur babies.
