NASCAR driver arrested for domestic violence in North Carolina

Every marriage in Charlotte, North Carolina has its ups and downs and periods of time where the two people disagree and get in arguments. However, there is never a reason to become physically violent with your spouse. When this happens, it can be considered domestic abuse and the person responsible for the violence may find him or herself behind bars.

This was the case for 37-year-old NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil who was recently arrested on charges of domestic violence. Although authorities do not know what the couple was arguing about, they say Kvapil grabbed his wife’s hair and pulled her into a bedroom one evening during an argument. When she tried to get away, he struck her in the head.

Authorities arrested Kvapil after a call was placed to 911 to report the incident. He was charged with false imprisonment and misdemeanor assault on a female. He was later released on a $2000 bond, but is ordered to stay away from the home where his wife and three children reside.

It does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the incident, nor did Kvapil use any weapons in the assault, but he did use his hands and his feet.

Kvapil’s wife may wish to consult with a family practice attorney in order to more fully protect herself. Doing so may ensure that she and her children can be free from worry about being in danger at the hands of the person they were supposed to be able to trust.
